Thanksgiving: A Lifestyle of Gratitude
It is necessary that Thanksgiving should be your lifestyle. Our Lord Jesus cultivated the lifestyle of consistently giving thanks to God. When the praises go up, the glory comes down.
There are days you will not feel like thanking God because of the negative things going on around you, but that is the best time to thank God. As a matter of fact, the best way to access God’s presence is through Thanksgiving. Psalm 100:4 says you should “enter his gates with Thanksgiving and into his court with praise.” The right posture to come to God is a posture of appreciation and gratitude for the good things He did for you in the past, what He is doing presently, and what He is still going to do in the future.
Give thanks to God at all times. As Ephesians 5:20 says, “Give him thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” It is a good thing to give thanks to God. People who have made Thanksgiving a lifestyle are called people after God’s heart, just like David. I trust that you will be called that today after these prayers.
